UN Report Finds Trump Ally Violated Libya Arms Embargo: US Media 02/20/21 AT 2:07 AM Private security contractor and ally of former US President Trump Erik Prince violated a United Nations arms embargo on Libya, UN investigators have found in a report detailed by US media on Friday. The confidential report to the Security Council, obtained by the New York Times and the Washington Post, said that Prince deployed a force of foreign mercenaries and weapons to strongman Khalifa Haftar, who has fought to overthrow the UN-backed Libyan government, in 2019. The $80 million operation included plans to form a hit squad to track and kill Libyan commanders opposed to Haftar including some who were also European Union citizens, the New York Times said.

Police - strongly denies allegations of discrimination against female police officers

Saturday, 20 February 2021 - 9:21 The Police Headquarters issued a statement stating that it strongly denies allegations that the Sri Lanka Police discriminates against female officers. The Police Headquarters has issued the statement in response to reports that the rights of women police officers have been violated and that some officers have been subjected to discrimination. Former SSP Bimshani Jasin Arachchi was promoted to the post of DIG by the Police Commission last year and 32 senior SSPs including former police spokespersons Ruwan Gunasekara and Jaliya Senaratne filed a fundamental rights petition in the Supreme Court. They had stated that Bimshani Jasin Arachchi has been appointed to a post which is not available for the women cadre in the approved number of employees in the police service.

Qatar- Three held for violating home quarantine pledge
