Partnership forms to help vaccinate Manalapan seniors
MANALAPAN – The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners has announced its partnership with the Visiting Nurse Association of Central Jersey Community Health Center (VNACJ CHC) and Manalapan to vaccinate the senior community in Manalapan during the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
“The county is committed to doing everything we can to help protect our most vulnerable residents and right now getting our senior residents vaccinated is our priority,” Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone said.
“We are happy to provide the transportation for our seniors and help them in any way we can so they can get these vaccines to protect themselves and get back to living their lives,” he said.

The ripple effects of the COVID-19 pandemic have been varied and far-reaching – and distress is not always related to health concerns. Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners Deputy Director Susan M. Kiley recently learned of an unforeseen need among the county’s expectant and parenting mothers.
On a call for Monmouth ACTS’ Early Childhood Success Hub, Kiley was surprised to learn from leaders of various service organizations that mothers across Monmouth County, particularly expectant young mothers struggling financially due to COVID-19, were having trouble finding diapers, wipes and other supplies for newborns and young children, according to a press release.

The Monmouth County Board of County Commissioners held a joint press conference with representatives of Monmouth Medical Center, an RWJBarnabas Health facility, and Brookdale Community College on Jan. 22 to announce their partnership to provide a vaccination site at Brookdale Community College’s Robert J. Collins Arena in Lincroft.
“I am very excited to announce the county’s partnership with Brookdale and Monmouth Medical Center to provide this vaccination site for our residents,” said Commissioner Director Thomas A. Arnone.
