Isolation and Fear Among Myanmar Coffee Producers as Military Coup Wears On

Hours before Myanmar’s new parliament was set to begin session on Monday, Feb. 1, Myanmar’s armed forces known as the Tatmadaw staged a coup d’état. State Counsellor and de-facto leader Aung San Suu Kyi, President Win Myint, and other elected members and high-ranking officials of the National League for Democracy (NLD) whose party had captured 83% (396 out of 476) of available parliamentary seats in the November 2020 election were deposed and detained. Citing electoral fraud, the Tatmadaw and its leader Min Aung Hlaing declared a one-year state of emergency, promised elections in a year’s time, and accused Aung San Suu Kyi of an obscure violation while keeping her under house arrest. On February 2, the military regime formed a military junta to rule the country, christening it the State Administrative Council (SAC).

5 Trends to Watch in 2021 for Trademark & Brand Management | Insights

Share Trademark Modernization Act – The bipartisan Trademark Modernization Act of 2020, passed by Congress on December 21, 2020, is intended to bolster the United States Patent and Trademark Office’s (USPTO) initiatives to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Trademark Register. The Act invites interested parties to scrutinize use claims within trademark applications and registrations through an augmented letter of protest procedure and two new types of post-registration challenge – ex parte expungement proceedings (after the third anniversary of the registration date) and petitions for re-examination. The Act also resolves a circuit split regarding the requisite irreparable harm showing necessary for trademark-related injunctive relief by codifying a rebuttable presumption of irreparable harm for trademark violations. All eyes will be on the USPTO’s and federal court system’s implementation of the new Act and the efficacy of the new procedures.

Mare makes comeback from illness to capture 1.50m Jumper Classic at WEF

Horse & Hound Trending: Credit: @ SPORTFOT Molly Ashe Cawley flew to the top of the podium aboard Berdien, a mare who endured a serious illness last year, in the $37,000 CaptiveOne Advisors 1.50m Jumper Classic on Friday, January 15, at the 2021 Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), held at Palm Beach International Equestrian Center (PBIEC). Cawley has had Berdien since she was a six-year-old and brought her over from Europe shortly after that. The pair have experienced success from day one, but the mare was forced to sit out last year’s WEF after coming down with an illness while shipping south for the winter. Friday’s win was just one of many positive steps during her recovery and return to the show ring.

0 well, bill, don t forget the fbi does release photos of wanted criminals. the fbi s 10 most wanted is out there. people they want to go after. the public has been very helpful. over 30% of people found on the fbi s 10 most wanted list came from the public. i don t think we have many cases of people going after 10 most wanted individually to go harm them. bill: but you know, bill, this is terrorism. this is raw. this is emotional. this is, you know, three days ago. you know, the fbi s most wanted list is vetted. it s a carefully thought out process. i m sure this was carefully thought out as well. i have never seen anything like this. you have? no. certainly. bill: unprecedented? unprecedented. i am confident that they are saying they are looking for these people and these are the only two people, bill, in this press conference they mentioned who are out there who they want people to look for is that they are confident that they have something else showing that they have the
