walked into robb elementary school in uvalde, texas, and killed 19 children and two teachers before he was finally killed by police 77 minutes later. it s one of the worst school shootings in u.s. history, and what makes it even harder to understand is that 376 law enforcement personnel responded to the scene, but it took them more than an hour before they actually moved to breach the classroom and confront the shooter. they waited while children inside lay injured and dying. over the past year, cnn s shimon prokupecz and his team have been digging for answers and thou sources they have obtained the entire investigative case file which includes thousands of documents, hundreds of hours of footage and multiple audio recordings. uvalde city officials haven t seen all of the evidence, neither have the families of the victims until now. we ll show you new video from the aftermath. it s tough to watch and sometimes shocking. the only images and sound are from children you survived
sg your elected leaders have taken a pause to try to prevent economic catastrophe. a major snag with debt negotiations up against the clock and government set to run out of money to pay its bills putting puttingesq everything at risk. and wobiden is meeting with leaders in japan and president zelenskyy has a big ask. and a new name making the case why donald trump should not be the gop nominee. we ll start with the money lead. talks to avoid. an economic catastrophe in the united states. they have hit a snag. gosh they pressed pause because talks were not productive. and kevin mccarthy seemed radically less optimistic on a potential deal than he did yesterday. yesterday i felt that we were at the location where i could see the path, the white house is just look, we can t be spending more money next year. we have to spend less than the year before. pretty easy. the white house is today attempting to project optimism nonetheless saying a deal remains possible despit
it s because of this. what they do and how they speak has changed because of what happened in uvalde, texas. i don t expect us to be the same people that we were before this happened. we lost our daughter. we lost ourselves. we re just trying to pick up the pieces and do what we can with it. do you worry about that, that your pain will always probably exist in some ways? yeah. it s hard to think of a life where you re never happy again or you just kind of want it all to be over. it s not normal, i guess. you should look forward to life. and i think we re just ready to kind of reach the finish line. it s what kind of life is it here?
there goes kendall. what are they still standing around for? all i can say, they re [ bleep ], that s all i can say. everybody needs to turn their badge in. every cop in uvalde needs to turn their badge in.
and i ll meet her there at the gates. 376 officers and law enforcement officials from 23 different agencies responded to robb elementary. excuse me, excuse me. tell me what was wrong. so far, only one uvalde city police official has been held accountable, lieutenant mariano pargs, the acting chief at that day. he was forced to resign after a cnn report showed he knew there was a 911 call from a child in one of the classrooms begging for help. and still he failed to take action. he is in the room full of victims, full of victims at this moment. full of victims. child called 911.
