Visions Of Getting Back To School Wednesday, February 3, 2021
Twas the night before all Hamilton County elementary school students returned to school in-person since December of 2020, and all through the house, every person was stirring; probably even a mouse.
All the backpacks were hung by the doorway with care, with their masks and their water bottles and snacks all packed there.
The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of their best friends danced in their heads. And Mamma with Moscato and I with guitar, had just settled down to prepare for tomorrow.
When out from their bedroom we sensed such delight, I slugged off the couch to assess what was right. For their excitement, you see, could be tasted and felt, and heard and observed and even honestly smelt.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, a-swirl in social justice reform yet sorely lacking in common sense, may be on the brink of alienating itself from the very community that supports it. Today the university will host a lecture and celebration focusing on ‘White Allies and Accountability’ when it is my view that such a distasteful folly will reversely reverberate within the campus and deeply erode the bearing Chancellor Steven R. Angle holds in our community. It’s pure garbage and has no place or value in our lives. To promote such vitriol is inexcusable.
