DOH: 1,201 new COVID-19 cases, 20 additional deaths | The NM Political Report

January 5, 2021 The state Department of Health reported 1,201 new cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday and 20 additional deaths related to the disease. Bernalillo County had the most newly reported cases on Tuesday, with 484. Two other counties had 100 or more newly reported cases: Doña Ana County with 117 and San Juan County with 104. On Tuesday, the department reported 740 individuals were hospitalized for COVID-19, an increase of 37 people since Monday. This could include those from other states who are hospitalized in New Mexico, but would not include New Mexicans who are hospitalized out of state. DOH provided some information on each of the 20 newly reported deaths.

  SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials on Tuesday announced 1,201 additional COVID-19 cases and 20 deaths. As of today, there are 740 individuals hospitalized in New Mexico for COVID-19. This number may include individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 out of state but are currently hospitalized in New Mexico. This number does not include New Mexicans who tested positive for COVID-19 and may have been transferred to a hospital out of state.  Per the state Department of Health, the most recent cases are: 484 new cases in Bernalillo County 47 new cases in Chaves County 17 new cases in Cibola County 2 new cases in Colfax County

Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record A Chaves County man and woman who were residents of two nursing care centers in Roswell are among the 32 COVID-related deaths reported by state officials on Saturday afternoon. Chaves County has now had 94 deaths linked to COVID as a primary or contributing cause since May 12, according to information from the New Mexico Department of Health. The woman was in her 90s and a resident of Mission Arch Center. She had been hospitalized and was described as having underlying conditions. The man was in his 80s, a resident of Sunset Villa Care Center and also a patient with underlying conditions.
