A hot week ahead!

A hot week ahead! Good Morning Suncoast Sunday By Mike Modrick | May 2, 2021 at 8:57 AM EDT - Updated May 2 at 8:57 AM SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - We’re facing another warm and dry day to end the weekend. Winds will hold around 10 knots for the Bay, so a quiet boating Sunday. Just make sure to use sunscreen as the UV index is extreme for the day, meaning you can burn in 10 minutes! And we’re tracking a little more heat to start the week, with Tuesday likely to be our hottest day. That heat is ahead of a cold front that will move across the Suncoast Thursday. A few thunderstorms will be possible with the front Thursday. Then as it drops farther south on Friday, slightly drier air returns, taking dew points back to the 60s for a less humid feel to end the week.

First Alert Weather: Our low humidity days will come to an end soon

First Alert Weather: Our low humidity days will come to an end soon scalzi wx By John Scalzi | April 29, 2021 at 6:39 AM EDT - Updated April 29 at 6:45 AM SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - Shifting winds will bring more humidity into the Suncoast over the next few days. Winds will shift in response to a trough from the west moving closer to Florida which will push our fair-weather high-pressure area south. As the high is relocated south of the Suncoast, our winds will come from the southwest off the Gulf waters. This will spike the transport of moisture over the coast and humidity will rapidly rise Friday.

Humid Sunday with a chance of a morning shower

Humid Sunday with a chance of a morning shower Futurecast By Mike Modrick | April 25, 2021 at 4:26 AM EDT - Updated April 25 at 4:26 AM SARASOTA, Fla. (WWSB) - We’re tracking a cold front that will move across the Suncoast this morning. Humidity is higher today ahead of that front with dew points in the 70s, but that will change Monday as drier air returns. Along the front we’re also tracking a few showers that are dropping south toward the Suncoast. But the showers are also weakening as they get closer, so not much for significant rain is on tap. Any showers that might develop for the morning will be gone before Lunchtime. With winds out of the west for the day, the risk of Rip Currents is HIGH along our beaches today. And we’re shaping up to have a warm and dry last week of April ahead.
