First, i thinkshould be clear that we believe the systems are safe. One of the safest mode of travel we have available to us in this day and age. Real also believe very strongly there are steps that need to be taken in order to address the safety, not just of the general public, but the employees who work for these diseases. There is no question that when youre dealing with an aging infrastructure and the needs that are required to maintain that infrastructure, employees will be working in Hazardous Conditions that can make for an unsafe situation, but there are steps that the Transit Agency has taken. I know from my own experience we focus closely on making sure that our operators have appropriate training, tools, protocols and place to map the safety of these employees. But the reality is, as long as it will take to fix this problem will require more workers to work environments where it could be a more dangerous situation that if it were invested in good repair. My question is more about culture, as opposed to policy. I ended up being a Military Spouse which was a Culture Shock for everybody involved. But, if you had mentioned kind of the pushback we get from other women. My experience was interesting coming into the military and when i was trying to raise some of the issues seeing the military families. A lot of the pushback i was getting was from the other spouses either on the group and i ended up writing an article for the Washington Post and it was the same thing. 90 were thank you for saying something that the ones i did get that for pushing back were from some of the older Military Spouses and retired and the problem wasnt that i was wrong that i had said something publicly. Down, gabriel found work as an auto mechanic making less than minimum wage. It was at that time that we knew we were in trouble. For the longest time, we tried not to go on public assistance. Not us. But one day i found myself at the kitchen stove trying to stretch a little pasta and tomato sauce and i swallowed my pride and applied for food stamps. It was at that same time that i heard about head start. At first i must admit, i thought, head start, isnt that that Poverty Program for lowincome families . Granted, we were at the worst times in our life economically, financially. So then we went to head start for help. Broken and ashamed. And enrolled our secondborn into the head start program. I enrolled in college and i can , the r my first essay woman comes alive at 35. Our son eventually got his masters degree and on that same day i received my bachelors degree.
