and try to leverage it to their advantage. lawmakers were told it is just not clear what kind of relationship exists right now between the brotherhood and egypt and also iran. so in some ways it is problematic it is somewhat of an unknown. but lawmakers were told when asked whether the brotherhood would block the shipment of weapons into the gaza strip, that was also said to be unknown. so a lot of unknowns about it but the key thing here is that u.s. intelligence officials believe iran will try and leverage the situation in egypt to their advantage, jenna. jenna: we might see an example of that today. catherine, thank you very much. you re welcome. jon: in ohio new info on a case we ve been following. a jury convicts a man of murder in the 2008 bathtub drowning of his wife. jurors deliberating two days before finding ryan wit mire guilty in the death of his wife sara. before the judge sentenced him to 15 years to life in prison. it was his third trial. a jury convicted him of his
egyptian brotherhood would never disown them, they say these are freedom fighter and we support what they re doing, so you re right, the conditions at which the muslim brotherhood exists in egypt makes them believe in participation politics but they believe that violence is necessary when you re in other conditions like hamas is. jenna: and that causes some concern in the united states, looking at egypt, again, as one of its major allies. i only have 30 seconds, tarek, for a big question but when you hear that the muslim brotherhood wants to become a political party and be active in the government, are they antiamerican? i think that the muslim brotherhood certainly is opposed to peace with israel. they are much tougher on israel and much tougher on the united states than the government that just left. so you know, are they antiamerican? i don t know if i d call it that, but they are certainly deep, deep critics of american foreign policy and
or prisoners but it is the first toll given by the new government for the movement that ousted longtime leader hosni mubarak. has the toppling of mubarak opened the door for a hard line islamic group to seize power? what the the muslim brotherhood is saying about its role in egypt s future. i thought it was over here.
