The Cairn is due to open next spring By Scott Wright VENERABLE Scotch whisky company Gordon & MacPhail is on the hunt for a candidate to run its new Speyside distillery. The Elgin-based merchant is looking for a distillery manager to run The Cairn, which is currently being built at Craggan – billed as the “gateway” to the famous whisky region. The distillery, which will be the company’s second after the Benromach in Forres, is due to open next spring. Gordon & MacPhail said the new general manager will play a key role in developing The Cairn, which will be focused on “creating the next generation of whisky excellence”.
