New Wave Nation To Perform At Struthers | News, Sports, Jobs

New Wave Nation Yankee Bush Productions’ first show of 2021 will be the return of New Wave Nation at the Struthers Library Theatre, 302 W. Third Ave., Warren, on Saturday, May 8. Due to COVID there will be two performances, socially distanced, from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and 8 to 9:30 p.m. New Wave Nation takes audience goers on a trip visually as well as musically with their 1980s show experience. Utilizing modern day video technology, the New Wave Nation visually transports the audience back to the 1980s while performing the songs live. All seats are reserved seating. The seating has been amended for social distancing as much as possible. Tickets are $28 each available at at yankeebushproductions.com. Online ticket purchasers will have the option of printing their tickets from their computer, scanning the ticket to their phone or receiving a ticket by mail. PA Council on the Arts revamps funding to aid diverse, rural groups

Joan Myers Brown’s company of dancers were midway through a European tour when the pandemic struck.   “It was a 15-city tour but after the fifth performance, I knew we had to get home before the borders closed,” Myers Brown said. “But I still had to pay the dancers for the whole tour.” The coronavirus-related economic impact on the arts community has been life altering.  For Myers Brown, founder and artistic advisor of the Philadelphia Dance Company (PhilaDanco!), it meant keeping performers on the payroll (the dancers are paid a yearly salary), while adapting to a new norm of pirouettes gone virtual.
