Snow emergencies declared across southern Wisconsin 8:37 am WKOW
(WKOW) Communities and counties in southern Wisconsin are declaring snow emergencies ahead of Tuesday night s winter storm.
Communities
Arlington
The Village of Arlington has declared a snow emergency for Tuesday, Dec. 29 through Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020.
Vehicles should not be parked or left unattended on any street or alley when a snow emergency has been declared by the Village Clerk.
This prohibition shall remain in effect until such time as the snow is either removed or plowed back to the curb line.
Barneveld
The Village of Barneveld has decarded a snow emergency.
All vehicles need to be off the village streets between 8pm tonight Dec. 29 and 8p.m. tomorrow night Dec. 30 to allow for plowing and clearing operations.
Watertown Street Division crews are currently plowing snow and sanding highways, emergency snow routes, Willow Creek Drive, South Bypass and Lake Kampeska high traffic roadways.
Starting at 4 a.m. Thursday, crews will begin clearing the downtown business area. Business owners in that area are asked to have sidewalks cleared before 4 a.m.
Also Thursday, previously plowed areas will be rechecked and re-plowed if necessary. Spot drifts within residential areas will also be plowed as needed.
If additional accumulation/blowing occurs and the Street Superintendent deems it necessary, the Watertown Street Division may alter this plan.
