Heavy hearts cannot begin to describe the feeling of losing our brother Jeff. The bond between us over decades of creating music and touring the world is something that we as a band uniquely shared. Those memories with Jeff will be forever alive in our hearts. It’s unimaginable that one of our band brothers has left us. We’re sending his wife Debinique, his son Sebastian, family, and friends our deepest condolences.
Jeff’s memory and music will be with us forever.

Leslie West, who has died aged 75 following a cardiac arrest, could claim to be one of the creators of heavy metal. His band Mountain made a spectacular impact when they played their fourth gig at the original Woodstock festival in August 1969, alongside the likes of the Who, Jimi Hendrix and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
The physically huge West had a powerful presence as a singer, but it was his massive, overdriven guitar sound that became the group’s most memorable trademark. Kiss’s Paul Stanley said that: “Leslie’s tone could stop a rhino in full charge.”

Leslie West of Mountain Dead at 75
Leslie West, guitarist and vocalist for Mountain, has died at the age of 75.
An announcement by Dean Guitars said, “With a heavy heart, we are saddened to hear about the passing of #Dean Artist and part of the Dean family, Leslie West. Legendary and one of a kind. Rest In Peace”.
Mountain were one of the bands of the Woodstock music festival in 1969. Their best-known song is ‘Mississippi Queen’.
West drove Mountain with Felix Pappalardi from 1969 to 1972, reuniting a few times before officially disbanding in 1974 The group was influenced by the UK’s Cream and the guitar style of Eric Clapton. After the breakup, West formed West, Bruce and Laing with Corky Laing of Mountain and Jack Bruce of Cream.
