Tradies and small businesses
waiting for cars delayed by severe stock shortages have been given more time to take delivery of their new vehicles after the Federal Government announced
another extension of the instant asset tax write-off scheme.
The scheme enables eligible tradies and businesses – with a turnover of less than $5 billion – to claim as an expense big ticket items, such as work vehicles,
in one financial year rather than over the usual five years.
The tax incentive was expanded in 2020 to
stimulate the economy during the peak of the coronavirus crisis.
In last night’s federal budget, the government extended the deadline again.

Pitcher Partners has poached corporate tax veteran
Murray Graham from big four consultancy
Ernst & Young as one of five new partner appointments. Graham, who is 51 years old, spent nearly 23 years at EY, including 14 and a half as a partner in its corporate tax and private client services teams. He will join Pitcher Partners’ Brisbane office.
Steven Bragg, 42, has joined the firm’s motor industry services team in Sydney from
KPMG. He was previously KPMG’s national lead for motor industry services and also spent over seven years at
Deloitte, where he was a director. Bragg will provide retail motoring clients audit, tax, mergers and acquisition, consulting and mentoring advice.
Blagg says the family is reeling. They re scared. There s still an 8 and 9-year-old child who were victimized as well who did survive, Blagg says. With the potential for the suspect to be getting out after 25 years or less, depending, they re constantly going to have to look over their shoulders.
Meanwhile, there s a movement within the district attorney s office to file a state bar complaint against Gascon. Roughly 800 deputy district attorneys are reportedly behind it. Deputy DA Jon Hatami spoke to Eyewitness News, saying Gascon s directive will impact horrific cases in a terrible way.
The studies listed in Gascon s directive point out that a shorter a person is sentenced, the less likely they are to re-commit a crime once released.
