So the students tried to negotiate with the university. The university refused, and then in defiance, some of the students set up a card table right in front of the plaza and handed out leaflets. In short order, a Police Cruiser pulled into the middle of the plaza and arrested somebody named Jack Weinberg who was behind the table. But before they could go anywhere, students begin to sit down around the police car and soon the entire plaza was filled with students sitting round a police car.
