After 46 years at anything, let alone broadcasting, he deserves to do “nothing”. I say good luck to you Dick, where ever you are.
Man, they guy’s been the political reporter on Channel 5 all of my life. I’m still missing Steve Neal’s writing…will certainly miss Dick Kay. Hope he enjoys retirement, and comes around as resident expert from time to time.
Does anyone know who this leaves as Dean of Chicago political reporters? I suspect Andy Shaw’s been at it a little longer than Flannery.
Dick always has good political insight into things, and a great sunday morning spot. I’m sure he’ll be missed by anyone that watches politics.
Established in 2016, the Twin Town Challenge sees Witney residents travel to Le Touquet in northern France. Teams buy a car for £500 (or less) and jazz it up however they like, before making the journey across the Channel. On April 29 next year, a fleet of cars will leave Blenheim Palace, with the aim to raise as much cash as possible. Once in France, there will be a series of challenges, in aid of Charlbury-based SpecialEffect. Organiser Brendon Cross said: “We are delighted that all our sponsors and teams have waited another two years to take part in this amazing spectacle. “This is the final ever Twin Town Challenge, and the more cars that participate, the more likely it is that we will hit our fundraising target for SpecialEffect of over £1 million.

A FORMER draughtsman who can’t use his hands because of multiple sclerosis is achieving acclaim for his artwork after learning to paint with a brush in his mouth. Steve Neal, 67, discovered his artistic talent after moving to Pendine Park’s Penybryn care home where he’s been tutored by artist-in-residence Sarah Edwards. From producing landscape paintings to intricate impressions of owls and bicycles, Steve lets his creative juices flow when presented with a blank canvas and a set of watercolours. His achievements are particularly impressive as he is a latecomer to painting, having rarely dabbled with a paintbrush before arriving at Pendine Park in Wrexham.
