A solicitor who watched the aftermath of the Fishmongers Hall terror attack told an inquest today how the incident looked like a pub fight before Usman Khan was shot dead by police.
Ian Waring observed events from his office window on London Bridge as 28-year-old convicted terrorist Khan was pinned to the ground by bystanders, having killed two Cambridge graduates at a prisoner education event nearby.
Mr Waring said he began looking out of his office window to see the commotion below, at around 2pm on November 29 2019, and saw what he compared to a bar brawl.
As the attacker was restrained, he warned that the police will kill him if he moves much more in a text message to his wife.
Relatives of two Cambridge graduates who were killed by a convicted terrorist lambasted the security services last night for shambolic blunders which contributed to the atrocity.
At the climax of a dramatic inquest into the attack at Fishmongers Hall in central London, a jury ruled that MI5, the police and the probation service were all at fault.
Jurors concluded that missed opportunities by the agencies contributed to the killing of Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, by jihadi Usman Khan.
Jack s parents David and Anne (pictured), both 56, said the way Khan was monitored was a shambles and totally dysfunctional

The brother of Fishmongers Hall attacker Usman Khan has apologised to the families of those who were killed by the terrorist in November 2019.
Cambridge graduates Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, were stabbed at a prisoner education event in central London.
An inquest heard staff at HMP Whitemoor suspected Khan was pretending to comply with rehabilitation work.
He also tried to hug the jail s head of counter terrorism before the attack.
Khan s brother, who cannot be identified for legal reasons and is the only member of the killer s family giving evidence, said: We totally condemn his actions. Totally condemn.
