A ski lift at Deer Valley that malfunctioned Friday was up and running as usual Monday morning. In fact, Deer Valley officials said the Carpenter Express was fixed on Friday night. The Friday mishap led to 167 skiers needing to be rescued from the lift by rope. No one was injured. The mountain’s vice president of operations told KUTV that a specific piece of equipment called a flex coupler failed catastrophically.

The jury in the murder trial of former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin has reached a verdict, the court said on Tuesday afternoon, as tensions are running high across the United States.
The verdict on whether Chauvin is guilty of the murder of George Floyd is expected to be announced shortly in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where the trial was heard, Al Jazeera reports.
