Chester Magistrates Court A CHESTER thief who took another man s bank card left in an ATM then used it to do a Tesco shop. Karl Andrew Nuttall, 36, of Oldfield Road, pleaded guilty to the opportunistic theft, which happened outside a Chester Tesco store on September 16, 2020. Appearing at Chester Magistrates Court on Friday, January 15, Nuttall was handed an 18-month community order. Prosecuting, Debbie Byrne said the victim was doing a weekly shop for his mother, using her bank cards with permission, as she rarely left the house. He used one bank card to withdraw £100 and the other to print out a bank statement, while Nuttall stood behind him at the ATM queue.
AN Ellesmere Port motorist was found drinking vodka at the wheel. Robert William Abraham, 57, of Caernarvon Court, was discovered parked up in the driving seat of a Vauxhall Corsa at the car park to Whitby Park on November 14, drinking from a bottle of vodka. Police enquiries found he had earlier hit a parked BMW along the way without stopping. Abraham previously pleaded guilty to driving while unfit through drink, failing to provide a breath test and failing to stop after an accident. Appearing at Chester Magistrates Court to be sentenced, Abraham was handed a 16-week jail term, suspended for two years, and banned from driving for three years.
