The AJ 40 under 40 architects co-founded Gatti Routh Rhodes after winning the commission to redevelop an east London church
Stefanie Rhodes and Tom Routh, both 39, did not know each other well when they co-founded their practice. It began over pizza in Bethnal Green, east London, when they were brought together by their mutual friend – and now co-director – Richard Gatti, who is 45. They discussed an emerging commission to redevelop a nearby church, which had been obliged to integrate homes into its new premises to pay the development costs.
