Dr. Darrel Styles (North Carolina State ’87), Riverdale, Maryland. Dr. Styles is a senior staff veterinarian in the Diagnostics and Biologics unit of the U.S. Department of Agriculture Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service’s Veterinary Services. He has worked tirelessly in the area of foreign animal disease to improve USDA preparedness and response policy, outreach, and programs. Activities set in preparation for foreign animal disease introduction
From Montana Department of Livestock HELENA The Montana Department of Livestock continues to prepare for a foreign animal disease FAD introduction into the state. The Animal Health Bureau AHB and the Montana Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory MVDL were recently awarded funding by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’ Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service to increase practical livestock biosecurity measures and address needs related to receiving, testing and reporting diagnostic test results, respectively.
