In a move born of optimism tempered with caution, Theatre Under the Stars today announces its readjusted 2021-22 Season, one that starts off in October with Rock of Ages and winds up with Jersey Boys in May, betting that audiences are ready to come back to live theater and we'll all be in a better place come fall.

A mix of live performance and film, itâs a short program (less than 1.5 hours long) with a limited number of dancers onstage and musicians in the pit. But itâs the Ballet, so you best expect greatness. While seats under the covered pavilion ran out within about 10 minutes of going online and these shows wonât be streamed online, thereâll still be space on the hill (get there early, MOT recommends, as seats are first come, first served).

HOUSTON The Houston Ballet will finally return home to Wortham Theater Center with live performances this fall after the pandemic cancelled its last season, according to a release sent Monday.
“We’ve grown from this difficult time and have been inspired by our community to keep creating art that reflects the diverse and innovative city we call home,” Houston Ballet Artistic Director Stanton Welch A.M. said.
Houston Ballet will kick off its 2021-2022 season with Margaret Alkek Williams Jubilee of Dance, which will run from Sept. 30 through Oct. 3, 2021.
