IT secretary directs speedy utilisation of projects’ fund Islamabad April 24, 2021 Islamabad : Federal Secretary Ministry of IT and Telecommunication Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has directed the attached departments of the Ministry of IT & Telecom to accelerate the spending of funds allocated for respective projects for their speedy completion. The Secretary IT directed this while chairing a meeting about Progress Review of PSDP FY-2020-21 here, said a press release issued on Friday. The meeting discussed ongoing IT projects and reviewed pace of working on the projects. He said that speedy utilisation of funds for the ongoing projects is vital for their timely completion.

Ghee price raised by Rs30 per kg, power surcharge abolished - Newspaper

Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh presides over a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet in Islamabad on Friday. PID ISLAMABAD: The government on Friday abolished a 10 paisa per unit surcharge on electricity and increased the price of ghee by Rs30 per kg (15 per cent) for sale at Utility Stores. The decisions were taken at a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet presided over by Finance Minister Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh that also approved about Rs850 million technical supplementary grants to various entities. The committee increased the price of ghee from Rs170 per kg to Rs200 per kg instead of Rs220 per kg demanded by the ministry of industries.

File photo GILGIT: Renowned Pakistani woman mountaineer Samina Baig will attempt K2 summit in the upcoming summer season as a sign of women empowerment and to raise awareness about global warming and climate change. The Special Communications Organisation (SCO) is sponsoring Ms Baig’s expedition. A signing ceremony of the sponsor agreement between the SCO officials and Ms Baig was held at the organisation’s headquarters in Rawalpindi on Friday, according to a press release issued on Friday. DG SCO Maj-Gen Ali Farhan and other officials were also present.
