that is that a view that was reiterated by a handful of members here. even as they try to get together a plan, can they get a plan that gets 218 votes in the house. that s a big question. and george santos, the embattled new freshman republican congressman, he met with speaker mccarthy today, and what do we know about that? he declined to confirm that they met. he was asked about whether or not he would be open to any sort of cooperate with any sort of ethics investigation, and he said, quote, i am not hiding anything and he would indeed cooperate. i did ask the speaker, did you meet with george santos today, and he said, yes, i did, but did not respond when i asked what the meeting was about. mccarthy said he would judge santos on how he acts going forward, and he said it s up to the voters of his district if he does not resign, and if he does resign, that would be a headache
