Geoffrey Makhubo has expressed shock and sadness on the news of the passing away of former Johannesburg Mayor
Isaac Mogase on Tuesday, 27 April 2021.
Cllr Mogase was the first post-apartheid era mayor of the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Council, which is the forebearer of the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Council.
Former Johannesburg mayor, MP and ANC chief whip in Parliament Isaac Mogase died on Tuesday.
The cause of his death could not immediately be confirmed.
Current Mayor Geoffrey Makhubo described Mogase as a trailblazer .
The first post-apartheid Johannesburg mayor, Isaac Mogase, has died.
Mogase wore the mayoral chain of the Greater Johannesburg Metropolitan Council between 1995 and 2000, before the election of Amos Masondo.
Mogase died on Tuesday. The cause of his death could not immediately be confirmed.
