What the Campaign Finance Reports Reveal About the May 1 Election
SAN ANGELO, TX The campaign finance reports were due Friday, April 24, at 5 p.m. and all but three candidates in the City of San Angelo May 1 election cycle submitted a report. The finance reports give insights into who is financially backing each candidate and where the campaigns are spending their campaign cash.
In the mayoral election, incumbent Mayor Brenda Gunter leads the pack in fundraising and expenditures. Gunter loaned her campaign $15,000 and then received $17,325 in total donations. Her largest donation from an individual was for $2,000. Most of her donations were less than $500.

TOLEDO, Ohio Earnest Brew Works announced Monday the business has hit its maximum brewing capacity and outgrown its taproom. In order to keep growing, the brewery is expanding to better serve customers.
Business owners Scot Yarnell and Keefe Snyder announced renovations will soon begin on a production brewery and taproom at 1415 Byrne, the former Kroger location in the Southland Shopping Center, with plans to open in 2022.

53 years ago, lights shaped like Christmas trees hung from the âspiral cascadesâ in the intersections. The 19-story First National Bank and Trust Co., 15 E. Fifth St., was outlined with gold lights that came on at the same time as DTUâs.
In 1967, the lights appeared on the Friday after Thanksgiving, a day when downtown normally would have been deserted. But Tulsans hopped in their cars to drive down Main Street and Boulder and Boston avenues from Third to Seventh streets to enjoy the spectacle.
The downtown merchants were trying to up their game due to serious competition from Southland Shopping Center, which opened in 1965, and Southroads Mall, which opened in 1967. The two new malls were turning the 41st Street and Yale Avenue corridor into Tulsaâs most popular shopping area.
