Sunny today, clouds and showers return Saturday Aaron Morrison © Provided by Anchorage KTUU-TV Friday, May 14 Morning Weather ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - If you thought yesterday felt amazing, just wait until this afternoon. As sunshine continues to grip the region, temperatures will warm once more into the 50s and 60s. Anchorage will likely top out in the 60s for the first time since late April, as the high May sun combined with sunny skies allows for a nice stretch of warmth. While today will pretty much be identical to what we saw yesterday, we are adding some winds to the mix. Winds will increase out of the southeast later today ahead of our next weather maker. Winds will gusts upwards of 35 mph by the afternoon and evening hours. While it’s not too terribly gusty, it’s important to make sure you don’t have any loose objects lying around. While we are dry today, an isolated evening shower can’t be ruled out across the valley due to diurnal heat.

Showers and cloudy conditions return to Southcentral Aaron Morrison © Provided by Anchorage KTUU-TV Thursday, April 29 Morning Weather ANCHORAGE, Alaska (KTUU) - After a nice and long stretch of sunshine and warmth, seasonal conditions are making a return to Southcentral. This comes as a frontal boundary is lifting north through the Kenai leading to some areas already seeing some light rain. A better shot of rain will arrive during the afternoon hours as a system marching eastward across the state collides merges with the moisture currently in place across the region. While not everyone will see the rain, it will be very beneficial considering this month has been on the dry side. Areas that do see rain will top out near a tenth of an inch with localized heavier amounts. While not everyone will see rain, all of Southcentral will see a noticeable increase in cloud coverage along with cooler temperatures.
