A major event usually takes several years to really take hold, and spring is traditionally loaded with them. But a full calendar got wiped out a year ago by the coronavirus almost before anything could begin.
Heading into spring 2021, the situation is looking decidedly better. New cases are way down compared to January and February spikes. At the same time, vaccination rates are on the way up, and state restrictions are loosening up just a bit.
With all that in mind, organizers are again warily eyeing the calendar and other dynamics to see whether to try and move forward with their events.

NEWTOWN, PA The Newtown Township Police Department reported the following incidents between Feb. 12 and Feb. 25, 2021.
February 12
At 8:15 a.m., a resident called police to report that an unemployment claim was fraudulently opened in his name. A report was filed, and the man was told to contact the unemployment office.

At 3 p.m., a Wrightstown Township resident reported receiving a scam call from PECO. The scammer claimed to be a PECO employee who told her that her bill was past due and her electricity would be shut off in two hours unless she paid with a pre-paid debit card. The resident was told to purchase three $500 pre-paid cards at CVS and provided the card information to the scammer. When the resident contacted PECO directly
Huston arrested for aggravated burglary

UNION CITY, Ohio On Feb. 15, officers of the Union City Ohio Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of South Sycamore Street, in reference to a female that entered into a house and assaulted residents.
During the investigation, it was found that Natalie Huston entered into an apartment without permission. Upon entering into the apartment, Huston assaulted two female occupants and caused damage to multiple items inside the residence. Prior to leaving, it was found that Huston also stole cash from one of the occupants of the residence.
Huston was later located at her apartment in Knollwood Commons. Huston was placed under arrest and was booked into the Darke County Jail. Huston has been initially charged with aggravated burglary.
