10 outstanding black-owned businesses to buy from now - and every day thereafter

Thebe Magugu AW2020 This year, in a bid to support the brands we love most during the ongoing pandemic, a light has been shone on independent businesses to give them the support and exposure they justly deserve. Amidst this is a worldwide community of exceptionally talented designers, artisans, and entrepreneurs who would have known the hardships of business long before the pandemic swooped in and transformed our lives.  Reports show that black-owned businesses receive significantly less financial support and grants compared to other non-black owned counterparts. More specifically, in a recent study by 10x10 in partnership with Google for Startups this year, only 23.3% of black founders received grant funding and a small 18% of black founders received funding from angel syndicates, banks, and family offices. These statistics add numerical value to something many of us already knew.
