Things are finally moving along at the Reynolds Homestead at Somers’ Angle Fly Preserve.
If all goes well with the renovation project, which was started in 2009, the 19th century farmhouse could be ready for new occupants by the end of the year.
The new roof and siding are on, the new windows are in, the crumbling stone foundation has been replaced and the electrical and plumbing systems are in place. It’s also equipped with a new septic system and well.

The Somers Board of Education has reached out to the community to express “outrage” over the attacks in Altanta last week by a lone gunman who killed six Asian women and two others.
The 21-year-old white man charged in the case has reportedly denied race played a role in his actions, but authorities have not ruled out bias as a motive.
In a letter posted on the school district’s website Friday, March 19, the signees addressed “community members who are of Asian descent,” saying “we stand in solidarity with you today and always.”

In making the announcement Friday, Jan. 15, the four-term supervisor said he was proud of his record and was looking forward to pursuing other interests, staying involved with the community and spending more time with his family.
Morrissey, a Republican, said it was a “privilege to serve the people of Westchester County and Somers in a career that has spanned over four decades.”
