MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — The Murfreesboro City Council voted Thursday, May 18, 2023, to support continued adjustments in the Solid Waste Fee Structure toward a self-supporting utility operation.
On May 10, 2023, the City Council reviewed a 10-year Solid Waste Plan Update including the continued strategy to move Solid Waste toward a self-supporting utility in anticipation of the closing of Middle Point Landfill.

A new solid waste plan for Hamilton County is headed to local governments for ratification, without a proposed increase to the fee for out-of-district solid waste.
