Major highways that were all closed for the weekend including the ben franklin bridge have reopened. Right now the ben franklin bridge is open, for all of the roads leading up to it, all of the access open as well from new jersey. The schuylkill expressway is open, 95 is open, all of the exits are open. And the vine street expressway is open east and westbound but all of the exit ramps are blocked off. Identified. What we are hearing is it is a mother and a middle schoolaged child who died in this house fire. It started in the back. It began consuming the house, moving to the front. We can show you some video. This happened about 1 45, 2 00 a. M. This morning. The flames were reaching high into the trees. Andfire department arrived were told two people were in the house. The firefighters went into the front bedrooms to try to make a rescue, but it was too late. The firefighters getting out just in the neck of time. They had to sound an evacuation because the fire was growing so fast. A neighbor has never seen anything like this. I got here, we were across the street. We saw the back of the house was in flames. It was moving quickly forward. There were firemen inside the house. They were busting out the windows to vent it. It was engulfed. Fire investigators have been on the scene. I didnt know what was going on the babys father yearold ryan harding crashed his car into this fence on the 6500 block of haslerhe admitted to police he had overdosed on heroinhis 1yearold baby. Court documents say harding was found slumped over his seat.
