Muscat: Omani doctor Dr. Qassim bin Saleh Al Abri, a specialist in cardiothoracic surgery at Sultan Qaboos University Hospital, was awarded the Michael Davidson Award.
The award bestowed by the prestigious Society of Cardiothoracic Surgeons based in the United States of America, is given to those doctors who leave an indelible mark in the field of cardiothoracic surgery.
The award commemorates the contribution of Dr. Michael Davidson, who was assassinated in 2016 while performing his professional duty.
His notable and far-reaching contributions in this particular segment is continued and remembered through this award.

Dr Qasim bin Saleh Al Abri graduated in 2011 from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Sultan Qaboos University, Oman’s premier government university. Dr Abri was chosen to join the Department of Cardiac Surgery at the Sultan Qaboos University Hospital (SQUH) which is again one of the best in the country known for various specialty t
