These virtues, in his words, prompted him to take up a seven-day walk from Dhaka to Chattogram in his teenage years with seven schooltime friends as part of an anti-smoking campaign, which eventually got him a certificate right from the then president himself. These principles also paid great dividends later in a career in apparel manufacturing.
