all right, let s get down to business with cnbc s bertha coombs. good morning, bertha. good morning, betty. we ve got citigroup reportedly close to a $7 billion settlement to settle charges it sold bad mortgages in the run-up to the financial crisis. a deal could be announced next week. part of the settlement will likely go towards consumer relief in which citigroup would modify mortgages for some homeowners. the labor department says companies advertise more jobs in may than in any month in the past seven years. that s a sign of stronger hiring, but employers have been slow to fill those jobs, suggesting they re having trouble finding skilled workers. 7-eleven celebrates its 87th birthday on friday and will hand out free slurpees all day long. the convenient store chain is extending the freebee fun into next week. customers can get free cookies and big gulps, but betty, you know, you ve got to download the 7-eleven app for that. all right, sign me up! i like a free slurpee. th

those two fine chaps recently walked into a texas chipotle in search of a burrito and the chance to show off their love of the second amendment. of course, it makes it hard for everyone else to enjoy their burritos when there s dudes with enormous rifles at the next table. and this isn t just a one-off thing. it s part of a strategy increasingly at the forefront of the gun rights movement called the open carry movement. folks who believe the second amendment protects the right to carry whatever gun you want, wherever you want, whenever you want. these activists want to normalize the idea of giant guns in every day settings. so they make a point of exploiting lax gun laws around the country to show those guns off, sometimes with slurpees. and it s not just in places like chip pot his and mcdonald s. in georgia, parents stopped a little league game because according to a parent, a man was walking around saying i ve got a gun and there s nothing you can do about it trying to frighten pe
