i love that. but door gate conditions. secrecy okay when it is the president s health care law. not so when it comes to slashing spending. now everyone, knows. and this is calls politics as usual. now a bad deal behind closed doors. where is this going? this is the usual hypocrisy in washington. if politicians are in charge of the process, they love secrecy because it means they can work with the special interest groups, behind closed doors and get what they want. with multithousand dollar page stimulus bills, health care bills, bailout bills, that s the way they operate. but if you happen to be on the outside and house democrats obviously do not have any power in this process they complain, but they are doing it because they want to affect the process. the democrats have always viewed the super committee as a scam to try to get republicans to seed
how fast can you do it and where would that money come from? it all depends on the people understanding and the congress willing to go with this. but you could do it at one time. people say it s impossible to do this. but we had a pretty good history of slashing spending after world war ii. we brought $10 million home and cut taxes and the economy was revived. you don t are have to wait. my program is designed to do it, like said in the clip there, yes, student loans should be phased out. and there is a fund that will tied some people over. but it is a failed program. and my argument is that it s unconstitutional. so much what we do now not only is it not only is it unconstitutional, we don t have the money. the question is how serious do the other candidates and the people of the country think the debt is? i happen to think it is very serious. like you pointed out, i was

congress tonight passed a budget that keeps the government running through september. this was the deal struck late friday to avert that government shutdown. praise hard to find even among those who negotiated the deal. is it perfect? no. i d be the first one to admit that it s flawed. well, welcome to divided government. the house vote, 260 to 167. the senate quickly followed with an 81-19 note that sent this six-month budget down to the congress. contentious fight over next year s budget and raising the government s ability to borrow money. in those debates, this number could be critical, 59. 59 republicans in the house voted no on that short-term budget tonight because they think it is too timid in slashing spending. dana bash and gloria borger are
