The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the killing of gangster Sanjeev Maheshwari in a Lucknow court failed to submit its report to the state government by the 14 June deadline. The SIT had been directed to submit its findings within a week of the 7 June shooting. The team, headed by additional director general of police (technical) Mohit Agarwal, has completed its enquiry and could submit the report at any time, according to a senior police officer.
