SL Agritech gets high credit rating

Published February 8, 2021, 3:00 PM SL Agritech Corporation (SLAC), the leading producer of hybrid rice seeds and premium rice in the Philippines, has been assigned a high issuer credit rating of PRS Aa (corp.), with a Stable Outlook by Philippine Rating Services Corporation (PhilRatings). PhilRatings said the rating was given in relation to the company’s commercial paper (CP) issuance of up to P2.0 billion. The proceeds will be used to pay the company’s short-term obligations, and to purchase rice and seed inventories from its contract growers. An issuer credit rating is an opinion on the general and overall creditworthiness of the issuer, evaluating its ability to meet all its financial obligations within a time horizon of one year.

SLAC caps listing at PH's bond bourse, raises P2B – Manila Bulletin

Published December 18, 2020, 12:55 PM SL Agritech Corporation (SLAC), the country’s biggest hybrid rice seeds producer, has returned to the local debt market to raise P2 billion, capping this year’s listing at the country’s bond bourse, Philippine Dealing & Exchange Corp. (PDEx). As a result, PDEx President and Chief Operating Officer Nino Nakpil said that despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the total debt issuance at the bond bourse this year still rose to a record of P388 billion, surpassing last year’s total listing of P375 billion.  “This is good momentum for next year,” Nakpil said during the virtual listing ceremony for SLAC’s newest commercial paper issuance worth P1.57 billion.
