now, we re going to play the final video for you now released by the city of memphis, and here s what this is going to be. this is from an elevated camera mounted to a street pole. so on this one there will be no audio. what you will see is nichols being thrown to the ground by police. a drive by police to a near car. all of this is going to be on the skycam video near where this happened. so you won t hear it. you will see it, though, and it is incredibly graphic so i warn you about that. i want you to know of course as you make a decision on whether to watch it that is what you will see here. here it is, and in this moment john miller is with me, of course formerly with the nypd. what we have seen so far and we re about to see now excruciatiingness of watching them standing around, so many of them, more than the five that were charged in each instance.
it has been said there is over an hour. there is the pole cam, they said the skycam and there is body worn camera video. what are we and how is it going to be distributed? will you put it on social media or sending it to the media? how is this going to be distributed. actually, we plan to post it on a youtube link so that it could be accessible to just about anybody who wants to access that video. and we ll be pushing that out later on this evening. the video is broken into four different sort of fragmented pieces. but they re all very relative to this to this incident. the initial stop, the stop here tyre s home and also body corn camera of individuals that were at that scene. is it was it released later on a friday after 6:30 central time, 7:00 eastern time,
again, we ve had a chance to see some of the video, but it is embargoed until the top of the hour, and it does starlt off wih the body-worn camera video, and then it will go to the aerial video, the skycam video, which is silent. the body-worn camera video. you ll get to hear the full audio of that and see the takedown from police officers of this young man, the language and everything i have to it is riddled with what you re going to see, it s going to be very disturbing and should be coming in at any moment. four different videos. the skycams according to our sa sara sidner s reporting those skycams are constantly on. there s no sound on some of them. the body-worn cameras have to be turned on when officers are on a stop and when they re actively engaged or involved citizens. right, right, and of course as don says, some will be silent.
the d.a. a moment ago. people want a time line. what happened in that traffic stop? how did it escalate to that point? what kinds of conversations were had? how long did they wait to get tyre nichols help. these are questions that we don t have answers to yet. and it gives us a reason why there is so much care and clearly preparation among the response to this, and yes, it is out of respect, yes it is a sign that people are going to be accountable, they re doing what they should do when these incidents happen, but it is causing fear because it is a signal of how horrible elements of this might be. of course, seeing anyone beat ton that point is horrific. but people are worried they might hesitate to get lep and they might hear things on video that will be deeply disturbing and what might that represent about the nature of the policing, the police department here, and about other parts of the story that they want to know more about, and so you heard people ask those questions, in the ro
