The investigation into the brazen killings and attempted murders of ANC officials in Nelson Mandela Bay has been escalated to the police’s top brass, with the elite Provincial Organised Crime Unit now hunting those responsible.
Allegations that a bodyguard was brandishing an automatic firearm at a voting station where KwaNobuhle’s Ward 43 by-election is set to take place on Wednesday will be probed by the electoral commission.
Only 68 of 902 registered voters who applied for special votes cast their votes for the Ward 43 by-election on Tuesday, IEC Bay manager Crosby Bacela said.
