Land reform warning: Calls for SA commission of inquiry into land dispossession By Sibusiso Mboto Share DURBAN - THE government should establish a commission of inquiry to investigate the “second wave of land dispossession” being perpetrated by white landowners, the South African Farmers Development Association (Safda) said this week. Reacting to the land dispossession claims, KwaZulu-Natal Agricultural Union chief executive Sandy la Marque said the land reform space was fraught with challenges and that an integrated approach was required to bring stability to the sector. Addressing the media and other stakeholders this week, Safda chairperson Dr Siyabonga Madlala asked for the government to institute the commission. “What we are witnessing here is a second wave of land dispossession on our people. We can’t be quiet about this, we need a commission,” Madlala said, adding that recent allegations involving the organisation and the misspending of R158 mill
