The National Reconstruction Authority (NRA) has made 93 percent progress in the reconstruction of private houses.
“We have made satisfactory achievement in reconstruction and rehabilitation by managing the risks posed by Covid-19 pandemic,” said Chief Executive Officer of the NRA Sushil Gyewali..”There has been 93 percent progress in the reconstruction of private houses which is the main area.” CEO Gyewali was addressing a press conference today organized to mark the sixth anniversary of the April 25, 2015 earthquake that caused a huge loss of lives and properties.
Out of 811,754 earthquake beneficiaries who have signed agreement for the government grant, 753,104 beneficiaries (93 percent) have started rebuilding their houses, the press release said. A US man tried to sell 50 million nonexistent N95 masks to an unnamed foreign government, authorities there say.
The 64-year-old was caught by the US Secret Service after the country wired $317 million – nearly R5 billion – to the US.
He was sentenced to six months of home confinement, three months of probation, and a fine.
