The SIM Card Registration Act will require all SIM card users to register their personal information with telecommunications companies, details which can be made available upon the request of a court or other law enforcement agencies.
The chief executive said the new law signals the administration’s national policy “to ensure that technology shall only be used to improve our people’s lives.”
The law will make SIM card registration information like full names and addresses available when ordered by a court or requested in writing by law enforcement agencies.
