The incident took place at the steel mill having a furnace for making billets and a re-rolling mill for manufacturing thermomechanically-treated (TMT) bars.
According to the water supply department of Gujarat, a total of ₹22,591 crore of water tax is pending with local government bodies such as municipalities and municipal corporations, and some of the industries from the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC).
