Learning to eat nutritiously is key to healthy families

The inaugural Cooking is the Cure cooking class was held on March 18. Dr. Taylor Pedersen s Show Me Strong Kids initiative identified nutrition and lack of family involvement as key issues children experience in Dallas County. Dallas County Family Medical Center started the first cooking class by starting with the basics, with families cooking together in the kitchen. This program is one of the first classes to address issues children experience and provide ways to help them overcome them.
