Lack of isolation, doctors cause for higher mortality
AHMEDABAD/RAJKOT: All through the pandemic, Covid-19 was considered to be largely an urban phenomenon. The current wave however has changed the picture drastically with 37% of the daily cases getting reported from outside eight municipal corporation areas. In villages, the pandemic has struck hard taking the people with limited health infrastructure and fewer doctors completely off guard.
Comparing the last 30 days (April 5 to May 4) with previous 30 days (March 5 to April 4) reveal that the earlier share of non-municipal corporation areas was average 10%, which rose to an average 32%, recording rise of 22% in a month.
