that vote went to john mccain. is the president tailoring his message different than what we heard today, kristen? reporter: good afternoon, tamron. i think we will hear a similar message in lima we heard during the president s first two stops today. he s talking about the fact he had improvements and the latest unemployment report to make that argument, but he s really focusing on the auto bailout, the auto industry specifically slamming mitt romney for his recent claims that jeep is shipping jobs to china. the president said the companies themselves have told governor romney to knock it off. it s worth noting that papers in this area have come out and said that those claims are false. the romney campaign continues to stand by their ad that says the auto bailout will lead it to shipping jobs overseas. that s the big focus today. why? it s an issue that resonates with the voters here s in ohio. one out of every eight ohioans
cuts they didn t need, and that we couldn t afford. companies enjoyed tax breaks for shipping jobs overseas, insurance companies, oil companies, wall street given free license do what they pleased. folks, at the top got to play by a different set of rules than the rest of us. and result of this top-down economics was falling incomes, record deficits, smallest job growth in a half century and economic crisis that we ve been cleaning up for the last four years. now, in the closing weeks of this campaign, governor romney has been using all his talents as a salesman to dress up these very same policies that failed our country so badly. the very same policies we ve been cleaning up after for past four years. and he s offering them up as change. he s saying he s the candidate of change. well, let me tell you, wisconsin, we know what change
held to a different standard, are not seen as american are, lazy. by projecting all these stereotypes, it s not the president of the united states being insulted, it s the entirety of african-american people. that s why this insult rings so powerfully. that s why the viewpoints of john sununu are dangerous, and that s why i think mitt romney is a coward for not standing up and stepping up and speaking out against the vitriol that his surrogate is spewing. it s been a terrible week for the romney campaign. you ve got a bad debate on monday night. you ve got the mourdock explosion on the war on women. you have him lying to the people in ohio last week about shipping jobs overseas, and now you have his top surrogate saying, you know, when you look at colin powell, there might be another reason why he s supporting barack obama. i don t know how much of a disastrous week the romney camp could have had. michael eric dyson, great to have you with us. there is a lot more coming up in the nex
