Two men killed overnight in a fire while five other people including a pregnant woman managed to escape. This is breaking news weve been following for you all morning on good morning maryland. Road construction, governor Martin Omalley said the state is desperate it raise more money. One plan would raise the state sales tax from 6 to 7 . Another plan, considered by omalley would raise the gas tax. Its something he tried last year when gas hovered over 4 a gallon. Hes hoping for more success but in the all legislators agree. Lets see if the money is necessary. Im not for a gas tax or sales tax at this point. What we need to do is start spending the transportation dollars on the things that were allotted for. If we do that, we dont have to raise any taxes. Reporter but the money has to come from somewhere. Its too soon to make an assessment. Its my hope we will have a Revenue Source for transportation.
