A serial sex offender who changed his name to hide his past has been freed from prison to prove he can behave himself.
Steven Perrie, convicted three times for having child abuse material, breached stringent conditions by living with a woman and a child one year after changing his name to Steven MacDonald.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard how the Angus paedophile paid £42.44 to legally change his name by deed poll.

On Monday, however, Perrie was released on bail by Sheriff Richard McFarlane to be of good behaviour.

A vicious abuser who subjected his former partner to five days of “brutality” has been jailed.
Ross Ramsay knocked the woman unconscious and screamed at her to get up as she lay on the ground.
Scaffolder Ramsay also throttled the woman and forced a cigarette into her mouth.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard how the thug hurled insults and abuse at her during the sustained attack at her home.
A young child screamed at Ramsay to get off the woman as he choked her.
Four teenagers accused of violently attacking cops at Scots train station
The four are accused of dragging one British Transport Police officer under the steps of stairwell at Stirling Railway Station.
