Israel pummeled Gaza with artillery fire and air strikes on Friday as it targeted Palestinian militant tunnels to try to stop persistent rocket attacks on Israeli towns.
In a 40-minute, pre-dawn offensive, at least 13 Palestinians were killed, including a mother and her three children whose bodies were pulled from the rubble of their home, health officials in Gaza said.
The Israeli operation included 160 aircraft as well as tanks and artillery firing from outside the Gaza Strip, Israeli military spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Jonathan Conricus said.

Hyderabad: The Al-Aqsa mosque was once again stormed into by Israeli forces for a third time in three days, leaving several Palestinians, including children, injured. The violence in the mosque also led air strikes or deadly bombing in the Gaza strip by Israel, which led to the death of around 20 people. Amidst the chaos, Israeli nationalists also marched towards the wasters wall of the old city to celebrate “Jerusalem day”(the day marking Israel’s victory in the 1967 war) which is held on May 10.
